Sample Redwater News Event updates to subscribe email Mshreenan@the-factory.org.au

Hi All,

Please find below our latest notice of forthcoming events,

Please also note that as our Waterloo dance group departure date to represent Australia at the World Children Festival in Germany fast approaches, there will be unavoidable disruption to our normal services and opening hours here at the Factory Community Centre. As I will be the only Community Centre staff available from the 15th June until 12th July 2010, there will be no drop-in services during this period. The Centre will be open for pre-scheduled groups activities and meetings only. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time, and ask that you advise potential referrals of this disruption.

Best Regards,

Mike

REDWatch Monthly Meeting – RWA Update and Brainstorming on How to Achieve a Genuine Partnership between Government & Community - Thursday 3 June – 6pm Factory

REDWatch asked the RWA following their last quarterly visit if the focus for the next meeting could be on how to achieve a genuine partnership between government and community. Roy, in his reply to the questions, replied that the “RWA is very happy to discuss the furthering of the partnership with the Redfern/Waterloo community at future REDWatch (and other) meetings”. At the June 3 meeting we are proposing to start this discussion. We do not want to rake over what has happened in the past but rather we want to start a discussion about what could be done to facilitate government and the community working in a more collaborative way to our mutual advantage. This hopefully will lead well into some of the discussions with Jim Diers on this subject. So bring your thoughts on what could be done in the future and have your say. Councillor Marcelle Hoff will lead this part of the meeting as an independent facilitator. There will also be an update from the RWA on what they have been doing in the last 3 months and a brief regular REDWatch working meeting to plan for the discussions with Jim Diers.
